SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
5 ILCS 465/16.1 new
    Amends the Flag Display Act. Provides that only the United States national flag or the POW/MIA flag may be flown over government buildings used by the State, units of local government, and school districts.

1    AN ACT concerning government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Flag Display Act is amended by adding 
5Section 16.1 as follows:
 
6    (5 ILCS 465/16.1 new)
7    Sec. 16.1. United States and POW/MIA flags only flags to 
8be flown over buildings used by the State, units of local 
9government, and school districts. Only the United States 
10national flag or the POW/MIA flag may be flown over government 
11buildings used by the State, units of local government, and 
12school districts.
