| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Michael | ||||||
| 4 | J. "Mike" McBride of North Chicago, who passed away on May 14, | ||||||
| 5 | 2025; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Mike McBride was born in Waukegan to Mae Berta | ||||||
| 7 | Poole and William LaVonno on October 1, 1944; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Mike McBride worked for Chrysler for over 40 | ||||||
| 9 | years and was a hard and dedicated worker; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Mike McBride had a lifelong passion for cars; at | ||||||
| 11 | just 14 years old, he purchased his first antique car, | ||||||
| 12 | igniting a hobby that lasted decades; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Mike McBride was a man of character, quiet | ||||||
| 14 | strength, and deep faith, which was the cornerstone of his | ||||||
| 15 | life; although quiet by nature, he had a remarkable gift for | ||||||
| 16 | making everyone feel uniquely loved, seen, and heard; he was | ||||||
| 17 | the anchor of his family; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Mike McBride was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 19 | grandparents, Postel and Rosie Mayfield; his parents; his | ||||||
| 20 | uncles, William and Rayburn Mayfield; his aunt, Pearl | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Medley-Mayfield; his sisters, Delphine Snowden, Darlene | ||||||
| 2 | Booker, and Therese Price; his brothers, Daryl Lee and Floyd | ||||||
| 3 | Booker; and his son, Michael "Snip" McBride (Lacarr Ricks); | ||||||
| 4 | and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Mike McBride is survived by his wife, Joanna | ||||||
| 6 | McBride, and their children, Denise (Terrance) Pope, Michelle | ||||||
| 7 | McBride, Normajean Rogers, and Cathy McBride; his children, | ||||||
| 8 | Kim Gray and Saundra Phifer; his grandchildren, Javon and | ||||||
| 9 | Laquion McBride, Shanelle, Kavon, and Delon McBride, Isaiah | ||||||
| 10 | Rogers, Wondrell and Wandreeka McBride, and Lonknieka Howard; | ||||||
| 11 | 24 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; | ||||||
| 12 | his siblings, Jeffrey (Kim) McBride, Edra Stewart, Claudean | ||||||
| 13 | Thompson, and Larry Booker; his aunt, Gloria Carr; his uncle, | ||||||
| 14 | John Mayfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended | ||||||
| 15 | family; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 17 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 18 | we mourn the passing of Michael J. "Mike" McBride and extend | ||||||
| 19 | our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who | ||||||
| 20 | knew and loved him; and be it further | ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 22 | presented to the family of Mike McBride as an expression of our | ||||||
| 23 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
