| 1 | HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Marine Corps League are combat | ||||||
| 3 | and peacetime veterans from World War II to the present; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, The Marine Corps League is active throughout the | ||||||
| 5 | State of Illinois in various patriotic activities, including | ||||||
| 6 | parades and burial of deceased veterans, scouting, assisting | ||||||
| 7 | senior citizens, supporting the active duty military, | ||||||
| 8 | assisting the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, and | ||||||
| 9 | much more; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The Marine Corps League provides Illinois with a | ||||||
| 11 | valuable veteran footprint, promoting patriotism, honor, | ||||||
| 12 | commitment, and an inspiration of Semper Fidelis for all | ||||||
| 13 | citizens within the Great State of Illinois; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 15 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE | ||||||
| 16 | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we declare June 5 through June | ||||||
| 17 | 8, 2025 as Illinois Marine Corps League Days in the State of | ||||||
| 18 | Illinois; and be it further | ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That we urge all citizens to recognize the good | ||||||
| 20 | works of this fine organization, with gratitude to the members | ||||||
| 21 | of the Marine Corps who have served. | ||||||
