SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas Michael "Tom" Sullivan, who passed away on June 13, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Tom Sullivan was born in Chicago to Thomas and Marion Sullivan on September 29, 1949; he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and remained deeply patriotic throughout his life; he married Kathleen "Kathy" Greene, and they settled in Des Plaines; and

WHEREAS, Tom Sullivan was affectionately know as "Tommy", "Tom", and "Sully" and was a devoted husband and father; he cherished his role as grandpa and found great joy in spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Tom Sullivan had a great sense of humor, a big heart, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved; he had a gift for making people feel welcome, a talent for telling stories, and a smile that made any room warmer; and

WHEREAS, Tom Sullivan was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Patrick "Pat" and Margaret "Peggy" Sullivan; and

WHEREAS, Tom Sullivan is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Sean (Krystal), Shannon, and Steven; his grandchildren, Lucas and Eli; his sisters, Maureen (Charles Boland) and Kathy (Rick Glenn); and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas Michael "Tom" Sullivan and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tom Sullivan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
