| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Shirley Anne Moylan, who passed away | ||||||
| 4 | on August 14, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan, the daughter of Samuel and Rose | ||||||
| 6 | Randazzo, was born in Chicago on August 2, 1930; she attended | ||||||
| 7 | Providence High School, where she enjoyed playing sports, | ||||||
| 8 | studying, and spending time with friends, and she later earned | ||||||
| 9 | her GED certificate; she married Martin J. "Bud" Moylan Jr. in | ||||||
| 10 | 1950; and | ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan worked numerous jobs to support | ||||||
| 12 | her family of 13 children after the passing of her husband in | ||||||
| 13 | 1975; and | ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan was a woman of strong faith who | ||||||
| 15 | was a longtime member of St. Angela Church; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan was a voracious reader and an avid | ||||||
| 17 | follower of politics and currents events; she found her | ||||||
| 18 | greatest joy in spending time with family, including telling | ||||||
| 19 | humorous stories about her children at family gatherings; and | ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan was admired for her intelligence | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | and wit; she will be remembered for her resilience, her | ||||||
| 2 | laughter, and the unwavering love she gave so freely; and | ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 4 | husband; her son, Phillip; her sister, Rose Quinn; and her | ||||||
| 5 | parents; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Shirley Moylan is survived by her children, Marty | ||||||
| 7 | (Lisa), Steve (Cindy), Jerry, Mickey (Dorothy), Kevin | ||||||
| 8 | (Sharon), Tim, Bill (Karin), Bob, Mary, RoseAnn, Margie | ||||||
| 9 | (Andy), Debbie, and Dan (Nikki); 30 grandchildren; and 24 | ||||||
| 10 | great-grandchildren; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 13 | Shirley Anne Moylan and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 14 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
| 15 | further | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 17 | presented to the family of Shirley Moylan as an expression of | ||||||
| 18 | our deepest sympathy. | ||||||
