| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Judith Darlene "Judi" Kingery Dodson | ||||||
| 4 | of Springfield, who passed away on August 21, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Judi Dodson, the daughter of James J.V. "Jude" | ||||||
| 6 | and OlaBelle Waneta Yaw Kingery, was born in Jewett on | ||||||
| 7 | December 3, 1941; she was a lifelong learner, attending | ||||||
| 8 | several schools and universities; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Judi Dodson owned her own accounting and tax | ||||||
| 10 | business before changing professions to drive a semi-truck at | ||||||
| 11 | age 60; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Judi Dodson was involved in the community in a | ||||||
| 13 | number of ways, including volunteering and working for park | ||||||
| 14 | districts, working for youth organizations, being a juvenile | ||||||
| 15 | probation officer, and serving as a foster parent; and | ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Judi Dodson was a member and officer of the | ||||||
| 17 | Springfield Luncheon Optimist Club for many years and a member | ||||||
| 18 | of the Order of the Eastern Star, Flower City Chapter for more | ||||||
| 19 | than 50 years; she also served as the first female president of | ||||||
| 20 | the Effingham Park District; and | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | WHEREAS, Judi Dodson loved painting and playing Scrabble, | ||||||
| 2 | and she was an avid Murder She Wrote fan; above all, her family | ||||||
| 3 | and her dogs were her life; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Judi Dodson was preceded in death by her parents; | ||||||
| 5 | her brother, Martin Haldane "Red" Kingery; and several of her | ||||||
| 6 | dogs; and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Judi Dodson is survived by her husband, Neil | ||||||
| 8 | Dodson; her children, Martin Fruchtl and Teresa (Bill) Trail; | ||||||
| 9 | two granddaughters; her dog, Shelby; and many other loved ones | ||||||
| 10 | and friends; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 13 | Judith Darlene "Judi" Kingery Dodson and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 14 | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
| 15 | her; and be it further | ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 17 | presented to the family of Judi Dodson as an expression of our | ||||||
| 18 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
