| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Dorothy L. Goleman of Naples, Florida, | ||||||
| 4 | formerly of Divernon, who passed away on September 3, 2025; | ||||||
| 5 | and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Goleman, the daughter of Lawrence and | ||||||
| 7 | Helen Hinkle Reichert, was born in rural Virden on April 23, | ||||||
| 8 | 1927; she graduated from Virden High School in 1945; she | ||||||
| 9 | earned a bachelor's degree in music education from Illinois | ||||||
| 10 | Wesleyan University in 1949; she married A. Leo Goleman on | ||||||
| 11 | July 23, 1950; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Goleman served as a music teacher for | ||||||
| 13 | Springfield Public Schools District 186, and she also taught | ||||||
| 14 | private piano and organ lessons for 58 years; and | ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Goleman was a member of Divernon United | ||||||
| 16 | Methodist Church for 71 years, where she served as music | ||||||
| 17 | director for many years; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Goleman was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 19 | husband of 36 years, Leo; her children, Melinda, Ann, and | ||||||
| 20 | John; and her brother, Tom Reichert; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Goleman is survived by her son, Andy | ||||||
| 2 | (Gwen Montgomery) Goleman; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Goleman; | ||||||
| 3 | four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, | ||||||
| 4 | Fred (Eileen) Reichert; her sister-in-law, Luann Reichert; and | ||||||
| 5 | several cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 8 | Dorothy L. Goleman and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
| 10 | further | ||||||
| 11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 12 | presented to the family of Dorothy Goleman as an expression of | ||||||
| 13 | our deepest sympathy. | ||||||
