| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mother | ||||||
| 4 | Mary Ann Robinson of Peoria, who passed away on August 16, | ||||||
| 5 | 2025; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Mary Robinson was born to Shellie and Minnie Mae | ||||||
| 7 | (Jackson) Robinson in Peoria on October 11, 1947; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Mary Robinson first worked at the Pere Marquette | ||||||
| 9 | Hotel and then at St. Francis Hospital for 25 years; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Mary Robinson was a member of New Hope | ||||||
| 11 | International Ministries, now New Life Christian Center, for | ||||||
| 12 | over 40 years, where she served in the Outreach Program, on the | ||||||
| 13 | Witness Team, and on the usher board; she was also a member of | ||||||
| 14 | The Purple Hat Brigade (PHB); she was deeply committed to her | ||||||
| 15 | faith and was praised for the impact she made on the whole | ||||||
| 16 | church body; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Mary Robinson built her life centered around | ||||||
| 18 | love, laughter, and faith, and her family was her greatest | ||||||
| 19 | joy; she was a faithful and proud mother while raising her five | ||||||
| 20 | sons, always present to guide and encourage; she turned every | ||||||
| 21 | gathering into a holiday, always with a game of spades or bid | ||||||

| 1 | wiz; she will especially be remembered for her beautiful and | ||||||
| 2 | infectious smile and for always making people feel welcome; | ||||||
| 3 | and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Mary Robinson was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 5 | parents; the love of her life, Albert Gene Russell; her | ||||||
| 6 | daughter, Carla J. Robinson; her siblings, Shellie Robinson, | ||||||
| 7 | Larry Robinson, Stanford C. Robinson, Richard V. Johnson, | ||||||
| 8 | Terry L. Johnson, Pearlie M. Robinson, Beverly A. | ||||||
| 9 | Robinson-Mack, and Arlethea Johnson; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Mary Robinson is survived by her sons, Tony | ||||||
| 11 | (Carla) Robinson, Dennis E. (Nancy) Robinson, Mark E. | ||||||
| 12 | Robinson, Albert M. Russell, and Brian K. (Cassandra) Russell; | ||||||
| 13 | her siblings, Michael J. (Jackie) Robinson, Steven E. | ||||||
| 14 | Robinson, Gary (Diana C.) Johnson, Yolanda (Ron) Severson, | ||||||
| 15 | Valerie D. Johnson, and Tammy Johnson; 26 grandchildren; 32 | ||||||
| 16 | great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of | ||||||
| 17 | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 19 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 20 | we mourn the passing of Mother Mary Ann Robinson and extend our | ||||||
| 21 | sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
| 22 | and loved her; and be it further | ||||||

| 1 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
