| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to | ||||||
| 3 | congratulate CFA Society Chicago on the occasion of its 100th | ||||||
| 4 | anniversary; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The designation of Chartered Financial Analyst | ||||||
| 6 | (CFA) is a globally-recognized credential considered one of | ||||||
| 7 | the highest distinctions in the investment management | ||||||
| 8 | profession; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, CFA Society Chicago was founded in 1925 with 16 | ||||||
| 10 | investment professionals and is the oldest investment analyst | ||||||
| 11 | society worldwide; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, CFA Society Chicago now has over 4,000 members | ||||||
| 13 | who represent a wide spectrum of professionals involved in | ||||||
| 14 | investment analysis, including portfolio and pension managers, | ||||||
| 15 | research analysts and counselors, economists, educators, and | ||||||
| 16 | regulators; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, The mission of CFA Society Chicago is to lead the | ||||||
| 18 | investment profession by promoting the highest standards of | ||||||
| 19 | ethics, education, and professional excellence, to shape an | ||||||
| 20 | investment industry that serves the greater good, and to serve | ||||||
| 21 | as the premier local resource for CFA designees, candidates, | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | other investment professionals, and their communities; and | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, CFA Society Chicago's five organizational pillars | ||||||
| 3 | include: | ||||||
| 4 | (1) Championing ethical behavior in investment | ||||||
| 5 | markets; | ||||||
| 6 | (2) Fostering a culture of inclusion, diversity, and | ||||||
| 7 | respect; | ||||||
| 8 | (3) Being a respected source of knowledge in | ||||||
| 9 | investment markets; | ||||||
| 10 | (4) Raising standards of professional excellence in | ||||||
| 11 | the industry; and | ||||||
| 12 | (5) Expanding the investment culture to serve the | ||||||
| 13 | interests of investors and society; and | ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, CFA Society Chicago has helped shape the | ||||||
| 15 | standards of the investment profession by leading | ||||||
| 16 | best-in-class educational, ethical, and professional events | ||||||
| 17 | for local candidates and industry professionals, hosting | ||||||
| 18 | esteemed speakers, and providing opportunities for members to | ||||||
| 19 | engage with one another on current issues of interest; | ||||||
| 20 | therefore, be it | ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 22 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate CFA | ||||||
| 23 | Society Chicago on achieving its 100th anniversary; and be it | ||||||
