SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marvin Eugene McClure of Macomb, who passed away on September 24, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Marvin McClure was born to Sherod and Bessie Bolding McClure in Salem, Indiana on April 30, 1939; he married Gloria Rodarmel in Alfordsville, Indiana on December 17, 1961; and

WHEREAS, Marvin McClure served in the United States Army, and he worked as a missile systems instructor for the U.S. Army for 24 years; and

WHEREAS, Marvin McClure resided in Macomb for the last 20 years, where he was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church; and

WHEREAS, Marvin McClure enjoyed woodworking and doing mechanical work on cars; he was also a fan of college and professional football; and

WHEREAS, Marvin McClure was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kevin McClure; his grandson, Kevin "Zeke" McClure; and Vivian Brewer; and

WHEREAS, Marvin McClure is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gloria; his children, Kent (Jackie) McClure and Kimberley (Jim) McClure Sanders; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his sisters, Shirley Gillenwater and Wanda Marble; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Marvin Eugene McClure and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marvin McClure as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
