| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Larry R. Willis of Havana, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away at on October 9, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Larry Willis was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri | ||||||
| 6 | to Wayne and Pauline (Jones) Willis on June 15, 1949; he served | ||||||
| 7 | in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1971; he married Phyllis | ||||||
| 8 | Silberberg in Belleville on January 19, 1973; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Larry Willis was one of the first employees at | ||||||
| 10 | the Jake Wolf Memorial Fish Hatchery, where he worked until | ||||||
| 11 | retiring in 2010; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Larry Willis enjoyed spending time outdoors, | ||||||
| 13 | whether he was fishing, gardening, or watching the wildlife | ||||||
| 14 | around him; he was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed doing the | ||||||
| 15 | monthly bird count at the Emiquon Nature Preserve; he also | ||||||
| 16 | enjoyed watching his granddaughters participate in their | ||||||
| 17 | sporting events, musical performances, and theater | ||||||
| 18 | productions; he was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals; | ||||||
| 19 | and | ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Larry Willis was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
| 21 | and sister, Roberta; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Larry Willis is survived by his wife, Phyllis; | ||||||
| 2 | his children, Noah (Ashley) Willis and Rachel (Ryan) Bieneman; | ||||||
| 3 | and his grandchildren, Ava, Maya, and Eliza Bieneman and Norah | ||||||
| 4 | and Naomi Willis; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 7 | Larry R. Willis and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 8 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 9 | further | ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 11 | presented to the family of Larry Willis as an expression of our | ||||||
| 12 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
