HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Linda N.
4Hoefert of Mount Prospect, who passed away on October 19,
52025; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert was born to Robert and Barbara
7(Brayton) Nelson in Elgin on December 6, 1955; she was raised
8in Crystal Lake and Cary, and she attended Cary-Grove High
9School; she received a degree in accounting from Miami
10University of Ohio; she married Paul Hoefert; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert worked as a commercial banker at
12First National Bank before devoting herself to raising her
13family; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert was a charter member of the Village
15of Mount Prospect's Special Events Commission, serving for
16more than 25 years, and she often helped plan and co-host the
17commission's Shining Star Awards ceremony; she was also
18involved with the Mount Prospect Historical Society and worked
19on the celebration committees for the village's 75th and 100th
20anniversaries; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert was active with Trinity United

1Methodist Church and volunteered in various organizations,
2including the Infant Welfare Society, the Philanthropic
3Educational Organization (P.E.O.), and Boy Scout Troop 23; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert, for her decades of service to the
5Village of Mount Prospect, received the Living Legend Award by
6the Special Events Commission in 2022; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert loved taking trips to her family
8cabin in Mercer, Wisconsin; she enjoyed renovating her older
9home, gardening, bird-watching, and being in nature; she
10especially enjoyed spending time with her family; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert was an amazing spouse, mother,
12daughter, sister, and friend to many; she will be remembered
13as a loyal person who was always willing to help her family,
14her friends, and her community; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert was preceded in death by her
16parents; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert is survived by her husband, Mayor
18Paul Hoefert of the Village of Mount Prospect; her sons, Alex
19(Sara) Hoefert and Andrew Hoefert; three grandchildren; her
20siblings, Bob Nelson and Susan (Denny) Rasmussen; her extended
21family; and many close friends; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
2HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3we mourn the passing of Linda N. Hoefert and extend our sincere
4condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
5her; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Linda Hoefert as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
