| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Jack Zucco of Rochester, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on February 13, 2026; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Jack Zucco, the cherished son of Marc and Carrie | ||||||
| 6 | (Garrett) Zucco, was born in Grayling, Michigan on October 3, | ||||||
| 7 | 2008; he was a young man of physical, mental, and spiritual | ||||||
| 8 | grit who lived his faith genuinely and never missed an | ||||||
| 9 | opportunity to help others; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Jack Zucco grew up trying many different things, | ||||||
| 11 | but he soon settled on wrestling, soccer, pole vault, and most | ||||||
| 12 | recently, playing guitar; he was involved with Cub Scouts and | ||||||
| 13 | Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout candidate; he served his | ||||||
| 14 | community by working the fields at the ballpark for the | ||||||
| 15 | Rochester Youth Athletics Association and worked as a | ||||||
| 16 | lifeguard at Springfield Elks Lodge #158; he loved to spend | ||||||
| 17 | time with his family and friends at Krekel's; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Jack Zucco was an active member of his parish as | ||||||
| 19 | an altar server and worked at fish fries and Vacation Bible | ||||||
| 20 | School; he planned on traveling to Rome in August on a youth | ||||||
| 21 | mission trip; he taught others to love and to let God's light | ||||||
| 22 | shine; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Jack Zucco loved life, as well as his family, | ||||||
| 2 | friends, and strangers; he was a son, brother, grandson, | ||||||
| 3 | nephew, cousin, friend, and helper to anyone who would have | ||||||
| 4 | him; he turned people into the best versions of themselves | ||||||
| 5 | without even knowing it; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Jack Zucco was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 7 | grandfather, Lary Garrett; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Jack Zucco is survived by his devoted parents; | ||||||
| 9 | his grandparents, Michael and Rebecca Zucco and Mary Garrett; | ||||||
| 10 | his three adoring sisters, Molly, Adele, and Lucy Zucco; his | ||||||
| 11 | aunt, Sara (Brandon) Goode; his uncles, Matt (Britta) Zucco | ||||||
| 12 | and Adam (Samantha) Garrett; as well as several cousins and | ||||||
| 13 | countless friends who meant the world to him; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 15 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 16 | Jack Zucco and extend our sincere condolences to his family, | ||||||
| 17 | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further | ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to the family of Jack Zucco as an expression of our | ||||||
| 20 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
