| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Andy Jack Bolsen, who passed away on | ||||||
| 4 | February 14, 2026; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Andy Bolsen was born to Floyd Virgil "Short" | ||||||
| 6 | Bolsen and Anna Jane (Harrell) Bolsen on June 10, 1954; he was | ||||||
| 7 | raised in rural Moultrie County; he married Tina Marie | ||||||
| 8 | Williams at First Christian Church in Lovington on March 1, | ||||||
| 9 | 1980; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Andy Bolsen helped lead the family farm after the | ||||||
| 11 | untimely passing of his father; he also worked for Fathauer | ||||||
| 12 | Grainland, where he designed, tested, and created multiple | ||||||
| 13 | devices, including a seed blower, a tractor mounted auger, and | ||||||
| 14 | a grain truck conversion, before retiring in March 2025; and | ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Andy Bolsen was a lifelong member of the Illinois | ||||||
| 16 | Farm Bureau, serving as president of the Moultrie County Farm | ||||||
| 17 | Bureau from 2014 through November 2025; he attended the Annual | ||||||
| 18 | Farm Bureau Convention for many years, where he often spoke on | ||||||
| 19 | the delegate floor and helped pass the professional membership | ||||||
| 20 | class; and | ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Andy Bolsen spent more than 15 years working with | ||||||

| 1 | and supporting area county fairs as his daughters showed | ||||||
| 2 | livestock, and he served on the boards of the | ||||||
| 3 | Moultrie-Sullivan County and Piatt County Fair for years; he | ||||||
| 4 | founded and led the Piatt County Antique Outlaw Tractor Pull | ||||||
| 5 | for more than a decade; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Andy Bolsen's pride and joy were his family, | ||||||
| 7 | especially his children and grandchildren, who affectionately | ||||||
| 8 | referred to him as "Papa", among other nicknames; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Andy Bolsen was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
| 10 | his brothers, Floyd Virgil Bolsen Jr. and Jake (Jan) Bolsen; | ||||||
| 11 | and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and | ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Andy Bolsen is survived by his wife of 45 years, | ||||||
| 13 | Tina; his daughters, Heather Martin, Marissa (Nick) Fluture, | ||||||
| 14 | and Christina (James) Gillen; nine grandchildren; his sisters, | ||||||
| 15 | Meredith (Richard) Rudolphi, Carolyn (Paul) Millar, and Cathie | ||||||
| 16 | (David) Adcock; one uncle; and numerous nieces, nephews, and | ||||||
| 17 | cousins; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 20 | Andy Jack Bolsen and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 21 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 22 | further | ||||||

| 2 | presented to the family of Andy Bolsen as an expression of our | ||||||
