| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the Mendota Township High | ||||||
| 4 | School boys soccer team, the Trojans, on finishing as the 2025 | ||||||
| 5 | Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 1A State | ||||||
| 6 | Runner-Up; and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The Trojans compiled a season record of 24 wins | ||||||
| 8 | and four losses; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The Trojans were victorious over St. Edward High | ||||||
| 10 | School of Elgin and Schaumburg Christian School in regionals, | ||||||
| 11 | Genoa-Kingston High School and Harvest-Westminster High School | ||||||
| 12 | of Elgin in sectionals, Quincy Notre Dame High School in | ||||||
| 13 | super-sectionals, and Coal City High School in the semifinals | ||||||
| 14 | to advance to the state final; and | ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, The Trojans' advancement to the state final | ||||||
| 16 | soccer match reflects a season dedicated to hard work, grit, | ||||||
| 17 | and resilience; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, The Trojans are led by Head Coach Nick Myers and | ||||||
| 19 | Assistant Coaches Rey Arteaga, Danny Hernandez, and Tom | ||||||
| 20 | Bender, with further assistance from Managers Ariana Sanchez | ||||||
| 21 | and Kashia Ortega; and | ||||||

| 5 | Mateo Goy, Kevin Herrera, Cole Kleckner, Abel Nanez, Omar | ||||||
| 6 | Nanez, Angel Orozco, Ramiro Palacios, Luis Ramirez, Alex Ruiz, | ||||||
| 7 | Mauricio Salinas, and Aaron Venegas; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 9 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 10 | we congratulate the Mendota Township High School boys soccer | ||||||
| 11 | team, the Trojans, for finishing as the 2025 Illinois High | ||||||
| 12 | School Association (IHSA) Class 1A State Runner-Up, and we | ||||||
| 13 | wish the team continued success; and be it further | ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
| 15 | presented to the coaching staff and players of the Trojans as a | ||||||
| 16 | symbol of our esteem and respect. | ||||||
