| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Bentlee Lawrenz of | ||||||
| 4 | Montmorency Elementary School in Rock Falls on winning the | ||||||
| 5 | 2025 Illinois Elementary School Association's (IESA) 3A Boys | ||||||
| 6 | Cross Country State Championship; and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Bentlee Lawrenz won the individual 3A Boys IESA | ||||||
| 8 | State Championship on October 18, 2025 in Normal with a time of | ||||||
| 9 | 10:14.9; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Bentlee Lawrenz's time equates to a 5:07 minute | ||||||
| 11 | per mile pace on the challenging two-mile course and was the | ||||||
| 12 | fastest time across all four IESA classes; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Bentlee Lawrenz winning a state championship is a | ||||||
| 14 | testament to his hard work and dedication and reflects the | ||||||
| 15 | commitment and teamwork instilled by the coaching staff and | ||||||
| 16 | the support from family and the community; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, The Illinois Elementary School Association | ||||||
| 18 | organizes 19 state final events each year, showcasing the | ||||||
| 19 | talents of over 500,000 student-athletes across Illinois, and | ||||||
| 20 | to emerge victorious in such a competitive landscape speaks | ||||||
| 21 | volumes about Bentlee Lawrenz's determination; therefore, be | ||||||

| 3 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 4 | we congratulate Bentlee Lawrenz on winning the 2025 Illinois | ||||||
| 5 | Elementary School Association's (IESA) 3A Boys Cross Country | ||||||
| 6 | State Championship, and we wish him many more successful | ||||||
| 7 | seasons; and be it further | ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
