SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gary G. Krueger, who passed away on April 21, 2026; and

WHEREAS, Gary Krueger, the son of Anthony "Tony" and Glennon (Myers) Krueger, was born in Alton on November 3, 1950; he graduated from Jersey Community High School in 1968 and attended Western Illinois University; he married Rhonda Mary Beiser at Delhi Baptist Church on February 6, 1971, and she preceded him in death on October 26, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Gary Krueger was a lifelong farmer and later retired as a supervisor with the Illinois Department of Transportation; and

WHEREAS, Gary Krueger was a member of the Jersey County Board, previously serving as vice chairman and chairman; during his tenure, he also served as chair of the Economic Development and Tourism, Liquor Control, and Personnel Committees; he served as a Mississippi Township trustee and was a member of the Jersey County Board of Review, the Jersey County Rural Water Board, and the Soil and Water Board; he served as chairman of the Jersey County Republican Committee; he was a past member of the Elks Lodge and the Loyal Order of Moose; and

WHEREAS, Gary Krueger enjoyed working in his shop, where he built his own barbecue grill and smoker; he cherished traveling with his wife and especially enjoyed their annual trips to Branson and visits with their grandchildren in the South; and

WHEREAS, Gary Krueger was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara Long, and her spouse, Spencer; and his brothers-in-law, Ed Holzworth and George Welch; and

WHEREAS, Gary Krueger is survived by his sons, Benjamin (Lynn) Krueger and Christopher Curt (Stephanie) Krueger; his daughter, Carisa (Kyle) Cook; his grandchildren, Devon (Victoria) Krueger, Riley Krueger, Hayley Krueger, Alexander Krueger, Brady Cook, Levi Cook, and Cailyn Cook; his great-grandchildren, Valerie Krueger and Henry Krueger; his siblings, Sue Holzworth, Donna (Marion) Phipps, Linda (Tony Kent) Krueger, Martha Welch, and Marilyn Woelfel; and many extended family members and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Gary G. Krueger and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gary Krueger as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
