| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to commend Our Savior Lutheran Church's | ||||||
| 4 | Breakfast with Baby, a faith-based ministry, for serving | ||||||
| 5 | families with children up to 36 months old in Carol Stream and | ||||||
| 6 | the surrounding communities of DuPage and Kane counties; and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Breakfast with Baby began in October 2019, with | ||||||
| 8 | the program experiencing significant growth in 2020 during the | ||||||
| 9 | COVID-19 pandemic, supporting an average of 110 families per | ||||||
| 10 | month; and | ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Breakfast with Baby is made possible by a | ||||||
| 12 | dedicated team of volunteers and generous community donations | ||||||
| 13 | that enable the ministry to provide essential physical and | ||||||
| 14 | spiritual care to economically disadvantaged families; and | ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, On the third Saturday of each month, Breakfast | ||||||
| 16 | with Baby provides a healthy breakfast to participating | ||||||
| 17 | families along with diapers, baby wipes, clothing, and other | ||||||
| 18 | necessary items; and | ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Breakfast with Baby also distributes new and | ||||||
| 20 | gently used baby items to help young parents meet their daily | ||||||
| 21 | needs; and | ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, In 2025 alone, Breakfast with Baby supported | ||||||
| 2 | 1,303 local families and provided more than 74,000 diapers at | ||||||
| 3 | no cost; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Through its mission to share the Lutheran faith's | ||||||
| 5 | love and strengthen growing families, Breakfast with Baby | ||||||
| 6 | continues to build a healthier and more connected community; | ||||||
| 7 | therefore, be it | ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 9 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 10 | we commend Our Savior Lutheran Church's Breakfast with Baby | ||||||
| 11 | ministry for its outstanding service to families in DuPage and | ||||||
| 12 | Kane counties; and be it further | ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 14 | presented to the leadership of Breakfast with Baby as an | ||||||
| 15 | expression of our respect and appreciation. | ||||||
