SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Daniel Wilford Edmonds Jr. of Ozark, who passed away on December 9, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds was born to Daniel Sr. and Donna (Brown) Edmonds on July 22, 1946; he graduated from Flora Township High School in 1964; after attending Southern Illinois University Carbondale, he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving his country during the Vietnam War for four years; and

WHEREAS, After his service, Dan Edmonds worked for the Veterans' Administration for 22 years until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds was a member of several groups, including the Coon Creek Ridge Riders, the Marion Elks Lodge, and the American Legion; and

WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds was an avid bowler, often hitting the lanes up to four times a week and belonging to several bowling leagues, and he was a fan of the Washington Nationals baseball team; his interests also included fishing, horses, and most importantly, his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds was preceded in death by his parents; his niece, Lindsey West; his nephew, Jeff Kingery; his bonus grandson, Dayne Harrison; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and

WHEREAS, Dan Edmonds is survived by his children, Angela (Mark Skivers) Edmonds, Felicia (Jason) Miller, and Anita Edmonds; his sister, Mary (James) West; his nephew, Rob West; two grandchildren; two bonus grandsons; one bonus granddaughter; two great-nephews; several cousins; and many special friends, including Judy Thomas; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Daniel Wilford "Dan" Edmonds Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dan Edmonds as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
