| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Howard E. Buoy Sr. of Decatur, who |
| 4 | | passed away on December 21, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Howard Buoy, the son of Robert and Edith Buoy, |
| 6 | | was born in Pesotum in August 1926; he served as a sergeant in |
| 7 | | the U.S. Army during World War II; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Howard Buoy worked at Archer Daniels Midland |
| 9 | | (ADM) for close to 60 years, starting at the entry level |
| 10 | | position of sweeping floors and working his way up to the |
| 11 | | position of senior vice president of operations; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Howard Buoy was involved in many community |
| 13 | | activities, including the Lions Club, the Masons, the |
| 14 | | Shriners, the Pony League, the Conservation District, the |
| 15 | | Jefferson Jackson Club, the Young Democrats, and other |
| 16 | | Democratic Party organizations; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Howard Buoy was passionate about his family, |
| 18 | | farming, improving his community, and supporting the |
| 19 | | Democratic Party; he was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, |
| 20 | | and Fighting Illini fan; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Howard Buoy was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 2 | | his wife, Regina; his companion, Sharon; six siblings; his |
| 3 | | granddaughter, Vicki; and his son-in-law, Mike Jestis; and |
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Howard Buoy is survived by his children, Diane |
| 5 | | (Chuck) Watkins, Karen Jestis, and Howard (Anita) Buoy Jr.; |
| 6 | | nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; five |
| 7 | | great-great-grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews; |
| 8 | | therefore, be it |
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 11 | | Howard E. Buoy Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 13 | | further |
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 15 | | presented to the family of Howard Buoy as an expression of our |
| 16 | | deepest sympathy. |
