| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of David L. Mason of Metropolis, who |
| 4 | | passed away on December 25, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, David Mason was born to Lester and Alice (Morse) |
| 6 | | Mason on July 23, 1947; he served in the U.S. Army and was of |
| 7 | | the Christian faith; he married Donna Staples; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, David Mason worked for Burlington Northern Santa |
| 9 | | Fe for 30 years as an engineer and yard master; he then owned D & |
| 10 | | D Towing and Recovery in Metropolis for 22 years, which he |
| 11 | | loved because it was a way he could help people; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, David Mason enjoyed working in his shop and |
| 13 | | riding his motorcycle in his free time; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, David Mason was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 15 | | his sister, Georgia Peters; and his brother, Dale Mason; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, David Mason is survived by his wife of 38 years, |
| 17 | | Donna; his children, Matt Mason, Brittnye (John) Wise, David |
| 18 | | (Julia) Mason, Bodhi Mason, and Josh (Ginger) Staples; his |
| 19 | | grandchildren, Hayden Staples, Collin Staples, Piper Mason, |
| 20 | | Lincoln Mason, and Destiny Mason; his sister, Shirley (Billy) |

| 1 | | Oliver; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it |
| 2 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 3 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 4 | | David L. Mason and extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 5 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 6 | | further |
| 7 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 8 | | presented to the family of David Mason as an expression of our |
| 9 | | deepest sympathy. |
