HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Carl
4Wesley Moore, who passed away on January 27, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carl Moore was born in Chicago on February 10,
61960; he attended Chicago Public Schools and graduated from
7Chicago Vocational High School; he served in the U.S. Navy and
8received an honorable discharge; he earned an Associate in
9Science in Biblical Studies from Chicagoland Christian Center
10Bible Institute, where he also worked toward his Bachelor of
11Science in Theology, and his dedication to his studies also
12earned him multiple academic awards for excellence and
13outstanding leadership; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Carl Moore was a talented computer expert with
15knowledge of various Microsoft programs, DCL programming, VMS
16fundamentals, and system hardware; he worked as an operations
17analyst and computer hardware engineer at the Chicago Stock
18Exchange, as a help desk analyst and computer operator at
19Draper and Kramer, and as a consultant who provided technical
20support for hardware and software issues at Dell Corporation;
21in his spare time, he assisted others needing computer
22repairs; and

1    WHEREAS, Carl Moore was deeply committed to his faith from
2a young age; during his formative years, he attended Third
3Baptist Church, where he was baptized, participated in the
4Vesper Choir, and completed several levels of discipleship
5classes; he later attended First Corinthian Church and the
6Chicagoland Christian Center, where he served as a deacon for
7over five years; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Carl Moore enjoyed studying and debating
9scripture, engaging in Bible trivia, discussing current
10events, and watching old movies, Judge Mathis, and The Andy
11Griffith Show; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Carl Moore cherished his family, and he was
13immensely proud of his daughters; he served as a constant
14reminder that family is what is most important in life; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Carl Moore was preceded in death by his mother,
16Sandra Moore-Jones, and his stepfather, Wilbur Jones; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Carl Moore is survived by his daughter, Corionna
18(Matthew) Moore-Clayton; his bonus daughter, Sierra (Jerome)
19Williams; his stepdaughter, Shawna Howard; his partner,
20LaWanda Wade; his uncle, Dennis Moore; his aunt, Loretta; his
21sisters, Diane (Warren) Cottrell and Minyon Moore; four
22grandchildren; his nephew, Christopher (Jamille); his

1great-nephew, Xavier; his cousins, LaShonn, Trizel, Dennis
2Jr., Shahari, Devin, and Devin Jr.; and many other cousins,
3friends, and extended family; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we mourn the passing of Carl Wesley Moore and extend our
7sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
8and loved him; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Carl Moore as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
