| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Carl |
| 4 | | Wesley Moore, who passed away on January 27, 2025; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Carl Moore was born in Chicago on February 10, |
| 6 | | 1960; he attended Chicago Public Schools and graduated from |
| 7 | | Chicago Vocational High School; he served in the U.S. Navy and |
| 8 | | received an honorable discharge; he earned an Associate in |
| 9 | | Science in Biblical Studies from Chicagoland Christian Center |
| 10 | | Bible Institute, where he also worked toward his Bachelor of |
| 11 | | Science in Theology, and his dedication to his studies also |
| 12 | | earned him multiple academic awards for excellence and |
| 13 | | outstanding leadership; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Carl Moore was a talented computer expert with |
| 15 | | knowledge of various Microsoft programs, DCL programming, VMS |
| 16 | | fundamentals, and system hardware; he worked as an operations |
| 17 | | analyst and computer hardware engineer at the Chicago Stock |
| 18 | | Exchange, as a help desk analyst and computer operator at |
| 19 | | Draper and Kramer, and as a consultant who provided technical |
| 20 | | support for hardware and software issues at Dell Corporation; |
| 21 | | in his spare time, he assisted others needing computer |
| 22 | | repairs; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Carl Moore was deeply committed to his faith from |
| 2 | | a young age; during his formative years, he attended Third |
| 3 | | Baptist Church, where he was baptized, participated in the |
| 4 | | Vesper Choir, and completed several levels of discipleship |
| 5 | | classes; he later attended First Corinthian Church and the |
| 6 | | Chicagoland Christian Center, where he served as a deacon for |
| 7 | | over five years; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Carl Moore enjoyed studying and debating |
| 9 | | scripture, engaging in Bible trivia, discussing current |
| 10 | | events, and watching old movies, Judge Mathis, and The Andy |
| 11 | | Griffith Show; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Carl Moore cherished his family, and he was |
| 13 | | immensely proud of his daughters; he served as a constant |
| 14 | | reminder that family is what is most important in life; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Carl Moore was preceded in death by his mother, |
| 16 | | Sandra Moore-Jones, and his stepfather, Wilbur Jones; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Carl Moore is survived by his daughter, Corionna |
| 18 | | (Matthew) Moore-Clayton; his bonus daughter, Sierra (Jerome) |
| 19 | | Williams; his stepdaughter, Shawna Howard; his partner, |
| 20 | | LaWanda Wade; his uncle, Dennis Moore; his aunt, Loretta; his |
| 21 | | sisters, Diane (Warren) Cottrell and Minyon Moore; four |
| 22 | | grandchildren; his nephew, Christopher (Jamille); his |

| 1 | | great-nephew, Xavier; his cousins, LaShonn, Trizel, Dennis |
| 2 | | Jr., Shahari, Devin, and Devin Jr.; and many other cousins, |
| 3 | | friends, and extended family; therefore, be it |
| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 5 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 6 | | we mourn the passing of Carl Wesley Moore and extend our |
| 7 | | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew |
| 8 | | and loved him; and be it further |
| 9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 10 | | presented to the family of Carl Moore as an expression of our |
| 11 | | deepest sympathy. |
