| 2 | | WHEREAS, September 17, 2025 marks the 238th anniversary of |
| 3 | | the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of |
| 4 | | America at the Constitutional Convention; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper to accord official |
| 6 | | recognition to this magnificent document and its memorable |
| 7 | | anniversary and to the patriotic celebrations that will |
| 8 | | commemorate the occasion; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, The General John Stark Chapter of the National |
| 10 | | Society Daughters of the American Revolution are a diverse |
| 11 | | group of patriotic women aged 18 to 98 who share a common bond |
| 12 | | of heritage with an ancestor who served or aided the American |
| 13 | | cause during the American Revolution, and these members also |
| 14 | | share a passion for God, home, and country; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, The Constitution of the United States has stood |
| 16 | | the test of time and remains an example to the rest of the |
| 17 | | world of an effective framework for a free society; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Public Law 915, passed by the 84th Congress in |
| 19 | | 1956, authorizes the President of the United States to |
| 20 | | designate September 17 through September 23 as Constitution |
| 21 | | Week; therefore, be it

| 1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 2 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 3 | | we recognize the week of September 17 through September 23, |
| 4 | | 2025 as Constitution Week; and be it further
|
| 5 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 6 | | presented to the General John Stark Chapter of the National |
| 7 | | Society Daughters of the American Revolution as a symbol of |
| 8 | | our esteem and respect. |
