SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
35 ILCS 10/5-37 new

    Amends the Economic Development for a Growing Economy Tax Credit Act. Provides that, in the case of a credit awarded under the Act for the employment of an apprentice, any requirement of the Act or any agreement entered into under the Act concerning the duration of the apprentice's employment may be satisfied by the employment of the apprentice by the apprenticeship firm, the employment of the apprentice by the commercial client served by the apprenticeship firm, or both. Provides that any worksite requirement imposed under the Act or under any agreement entered into under the Act may be satisfied by the employment of the apprentice at the hiring firm's worksite, the employment of the apprentice at the commercial client's worksite, or both.

1    AN ACT concerning revenue.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Economic Development for a Growing Economy
5Tax Credit Act is amended by adding Section 5-37 as follows:
 
6    (35 ILCS 10/5-37 new)
7    Sec. 5-37. Apprentices; duration and worksite
8requirements. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, in
9the case of a credit awarded under this Act for the employment
10of an apprentice, any requirement of this Act or any agreement
11entered into under this Act concerning the duration of the
12apprentice's employment may be satisfied by the employment of
13the apprentice by the apprenticeship firm, the employment of
14the apprentice by the commercial client served by the
15apprenticeship firm, or both. In addition, any worksite
16requirement imposed under this Act or under any agreement
17entered into under this Act may be satisfied by the employment
18of the apprentice at the hiring firm's worksite, by the
19employment of the apprentice at the commercial client's
20worksite, or both.
