|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, October 8, 1895 marked the founding of One Hope |
| 3 | | United (OHU), the social service non-profit that is |
| 4 | | headquartered in Chicago but whose good works extend across |
| 5 | | the United States; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, OHU strives every day to fulfill its mission of |
| 7 | | increasing opportunities for children and families by |
| 8 | | providing quality solutions that enhance lives, communities, |
| 9 | | and futures; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, In furtherance of this mission, OHU provides |
| 11 | | behavioral health, community-based family services, such as |
| 12 | | foster care and adoption, and early learning and child |
| 13 | | development services throughout the city; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, In total, OHU serves over 10,000 children and |
| 15 | | families each year with its evidence-based and trauma-informed |
| 16 | | practices, behavior health resources, and residential |
| 17 | | programs; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, OHU operates with the vision of "For Every Child |
| 19 | | and Family, Life Without Limits"; therefore, be it
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |

| 1 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 2 | | we declare October 8, 2025 and October 8, 2026 as One Hope |
| 3 | | United Day in the State of Illinois; and be it further
|
| 4 | | RESOLVED, That we congratulate One Hope United on its |
| 5 | | 130th anniversary; and be it further
|
| 6 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 7 | | presented to One Hope United as a sign of our respect and |
| 8 | | esteem. |
