HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Youth Advocate Programs,
4Inc. (YAP) on the occasion of its 50-year anniversary; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Founded on November 3, 1975, YAP was created with
6a bold mission to provide community-based alternatives to
7institutional care for young people and families, transforming
8lives and empowering communities; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Over the past 50 years, YAP has become a global
10leader in innovative and effective advocacy, serving youth and
11families in urban, suburban, rural, and exurban communities by
12providing individualized, strength-based services that keep
13families together; and
 
14    WHEREAS, YAP's unique, evidence-based model includes a
15commitment to a "no eject, no reject" policy, ensuring that
16every young person and family receives the support they need
17without exclusion; and
 
18    WHEREAS, YAP's work has successfully reduced reliance on
19out-of-home placements, including detention centers,
20residential treatment facilities, and correctional placements,
21offering cost-effective solutions that prioritize the

1well-being of youth, families, and communities; and
 
2    WHEREAS, YAP's holistic approach to youth and family
3advocacy has fostered resilience, created economic
4opportunities through workforce development, and built safer,
5stronger communities across the nation and around the world;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, The year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of YAP's
8impactful service, celebrating decades of advancing equity,
9justice, and positive outcomes for countless individuals;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
12HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we congratulate Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. (YAP) on
14achieving its 50th anniversary while continually making
15extraordinary contributions to our communities, and we commend
16the organization's unwavering commitment to justice and
17opportunity and its ongoing efforts to create a more equitable
18and compassionate society; and be it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to
20YAP as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
