HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Whiteside Middle School, 
4the Warriors, on winning the 2025 Southern Illinois Junior 
5High School Athletic Association Class L Baseball State 
6Championship; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Warriors compiled a season record of 21 wins 
8and 1 loss; and
 
9    WHEREAS, The Warriors were victorious over Wolf Branch 
10Middle School (Swansea) 9 to 1 in the regional, Washington 
11Middle School (Johnston City) 1 to 0 in the quarter finals, and 
12Du Quoin Middle School 15 to 2 in the semi-finals to reach the 
13championship game; and
 
14    WHEREAS, The Warriors claimed the first championship in 
15school history by defeating Waterloo Jr. High School by a 
16score of 7 to 3 in the title game; and
 
17    WHEREAS, The Warriors are led by Head Coach Troy Griffith 
18and Assistant Coaches Matt Thrune, Mike McGehee, and Sherwin 
19Lockridge; and
 
20    WHEREAS, The Warriors are Ajani Mitchom, Bently Lindemann,

1Dominic Kreiter, Jackson Thrune, Jacob Hataway, Kade Lindley, 
2Mason McGehee, Maxwell Leroy, Miles Lockridge, Saweera 
3Puribhat, Tyron Armour, Tyler Rakers, and Yusuf Fares; 
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate Whiteside Middle School, the Warriors, on 
8winning the 2025 Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic 
9Association Class L Baseball State Championship, and we wish 
10them many more successful seasons; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
12presented to the Warriors' coaches and players as a symbol of 
13our respect and esteem.
