AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2808 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2808, AS AMENDED, 
3with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment No. 
41 on page 1, line 12, by replacing "Life Care Facilities Act;" 
5with "Life Care Facilities Act;"; and
 
6on page 2, by replacing lines 6 through 12 with the following:
7    "(a) (Blank). Staff with direct access to clients with 
8Alzheimer's disease or a  related dementia hired prior to the 
9adoption of rules implementing this Act shall receive a minimum 
10of 6 hours of initial training within 90 days after the 
11effective date of this Act using Alzheimer's disease and 
12related dementias services certified by the Department, except 
13as provided in subsection (c)."; and
 
14on page 2, line 20, by replacing "Subsections (a) and" with 
15"Subsection Subsections (a) and"; and

1on page 3, by replacing lines 14 through 21 with the following:
2    "(e) (Blank). An individual who received training 
3consistent with the requirements of this Section while employed 
4by another program or through an educational institution or an 
5individual with 3 or more years of experience working with 
6Alzheimer's disease and related dementias services may 
7petition the Department for a waiver of the initial training 
8requirements set forth in this Section.  The Department shall 
9evaluate each request on a case by case basis.".
