HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Ambucs is a national nonprofit charitable 
3organization with a diverse membership comprised of local civic 
4clubs located throughout the United States dedicated to 
5inspiring mobility and independence for people with 
6disabilities by performing community service, providing 
7Amtryke therapeutic tricycles for children with disabilities, 
8and providing scholarships for therapists; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, There are 14 Ambucs Chapters located in the State 
10of Illinois and devoted to the mission of National Ambucs, 
11namely, Cornbelt Bloomington Ambucs, Champaign-Urbana Ambucs, 
12Danville Ambucs, Decatur-Lincolnland Ambucs, Jacksonville 
13Ambucs, Pekin Ambucs, Rock River Ambucs, Springfield Ambucs, 
14Sullivan Ambucs, Windy City Ambucs, I-80 Ottawa Ambucs, Greater 
15Champaign County Ambucs, Grundy Area Ambucs, and South Eastern 
16Ambucs; and
  
 


  
17    WHEREAS, Ambucs Chapters and Ambuc individuals throughout 
18the State of Illinois annually and freely contribute thousands 
19of hours of community service and hundreds of thousands of 
20dollars of monetary gifts toward providing Amtrykes to disabled 
21children, endowing scholarships for therapy students, building 
22ramps for disabled persons, and numerous other deserving local 
23and national projects; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we declare April 2020 Ambucs Appreciation Month in the State of 
4Illinois to honor the accomplishments, unequaled charitable 
5giving, and selfless contributions of the individual Ambucs and 
6Ambuc Chapters throughout the State.
