| 3 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 4 | | the Rules of the House of Representatives of the 101st General |
| 5 | | Assembly are amended by adding Rule 9.5 as follows:

| 6 | | (House Rule 9.5 new)
|
| 7 | | 9.5. Memorial Day.
|
| 8 | | (a) Notwithstanding any provision of these Rules to the |
| 9 | | contrary, the Speaker shall not convene the House in regular or |
| 10 | | perfunctory session after 4:00 p.m. on the day before Memorial |
| 11 | | Day or before 4:00 p.m. on Memorial Day. |
| 12 | | (b) On a regular session day reasonably close to Memorial |
| 13 | | Day, the Speaker shall include in the business on the Daily |
| 14 | | Calendar for that session a remembrance ceremony for Memorial |
| 15 | | Day to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense |
| 16 | | of our nation. |
| 17 | | (c) This Rule may not be suspended.
