AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 550 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 550 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Compensation Review Act is amended  by 
5adding Section 6.7 as follows:
 
6    (25 ILCS 120/6.7 new)
7    Sec. 6.7. FY22 COLAs prohibited. Notwithstanding any 
8former or current provision of this Act, any other law, any 
9report of the Compensation Review Board, or any resolution of 
10the General Assembly to the contrary, members of the General 
11Assembly, elected executive branch constitutional officers of 
12State government, and persons in certain appointed offices of 
13State government, including the membership of State 
14departments, agencies, boards, and commissions, whose annual 
15compensation previously was recommended or determined by the 
16Compensation Review Board, are prohibited from receiving and

1shall not receive any increase in compensation that would 
2otherwise apply based on a cost of living adjustment, as 
3authorized by Senate Joint Resolution 192 of the 86th General 
4Assembly, for or during the fiscal year beginning July 1, 
52021.

 
6    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
7becoming law.".
