| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating | ||||||
| 3 | impact on many Illinois small and local businesses, including | ||||||
| 4 | forcing hundreds of thousands of them to shut down; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The small and local businesses that have managed | ||||||
| 6 | to survived have faced incredible hardships; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, All business owners are acutely feeling the | ||||||
| 8 | impact on their mental well being and their ability to | ||||||
| 9 | maintain work-life balance as a result of navigating | ||||||
| 10 | pandemic-related disruptions and fluctuating mandates across | ||||||
| 11 | the country for the past year; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, As noted, small and local businesses have been | ||||||
| 13 | hard hit by the pandemic, but their health has been on the | ||||||
| 14 | mend; smaller establishments have rehired most of the workers, | ||||||
| 15 | which they had to let go earlier in the pandemic, and many | ||||||
| 16 | indicators of their financial well being have improved; the | ||||||
| 17 | economy has reopened, and changing consumer demand is creating | ||||||
| 18 | new challenges and new opportunities; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, The small and local business owners in Illinois | ||||||
| 20 | are inventive and resilient and deserve to be honored for | ||||||
| 21 | such; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, The Best of Bolingbrook Awards and Gala 2022 is | ||||||
| 2 | hosted by the Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce and Mayor | ||||||
| 3 | Alexander-Basta and has selected local business to honor this | ||||||
| 4 | year because of their importance to the economy and community; | ||||||
| 5 | and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The fitting theme for Best of Bolingbrook Awards | ||||||
| 7 | and Gala 2022 is The 1950s: Era of Recovery, Business & | ||||||
| 8 | Innovation; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The 2022 Best of Bolingbrook Award winners are | ||||||
| 10 | Marquette Bank, Giamanco Law Partners, Ltd., Ted's Montana | ||||||
| 11 | Grill, ATI Physical Therapy, Bolingbrook STEM Association, | ||||||
| 12 | IKEA Bolingbrook, West Liberty Foods, and Alpha Media 95.9 The | ||||||
| 13 | River; therefore, be it

| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 15 | HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 16 | we congratulate the 2022 Best of Bolingbrook Award winners for | ||||||
| 17 | their resiliency during the COVID-19 pandemic; and be it | ||||||
