AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2651

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2651 on page 2, by 
3replacing lines 6 through 10 with the following:
4    "(c) The lease of real estate is also permitted when a 
5property, structure, or facility owned by the county can be 
6used for athletic purposes or museum purposes in the interest 
7of the public or for the benefit and enjoyment of residents of 
8the county in either of the following circumstances:
9        (1) if the property, structure, or facility is vacant; 
10    or
11        (2) if the property, structure, or facility acquired 
12    by the county is being used prior to the county acquiring 
13    the property, structure, or facility, then, for leases 
14    entered into after the effective date of this amendatory 
15    Act of the 103rd General Assembly, the lease of the 
16    property, structure, or facility must require (i) the 
17    lessee to allow any organization that used the land at the 
18    time the lease is executed to continue to use the land for

1    the leased purposes during the term of the lease and (ii) 
2    the lessor to continue, during the term of the lease, to 
3    employ, in the same capacity, any persons who provided 
4    services on the land at the time the lease is executed."; 
5    and
 
6on page 6, line 24, after the period, by inserting "Nothing in 
7this paragraph may be construed to permit eminent domain; 
8and".
