| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Merriam "Lee" Gustafson of Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on August 22, 2023; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lee Gustafson was born to Clarence Bernhard and |
| 6 | | Mabel Ann (Hanson) Gustafson in Minneapolis, Minnesota on |
| 7 | | January 16, 1927; he graduated from Dawson High School and the |
| 8 | | University of Minnesota, receiving a degree in agricultural |
| 9 | | engineering; he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II |
| 10 | | from 1945 to 1946; he married Inez Kathleen Reiff in |
| 11 | | Minneapolis on December 1, 1951; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Lee Gustafson worked as an engineer at John |
| 13 | | Deere; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Lee Gustafson was involved in Christian |
| 15 | | education, and he was an avid participant in the Full Gospel |
| 16 | | Business Men's Fellowship and a member of Toastmasters and the |
| 17 | | Christian Service Brigade; he enjoyed photography as a hobby, |
| 18 | | and he loved traveling and researching his Swedish genealogy; |
| 19 | | and

| 20 | | WHEREAS, Lee Gustafson was preceded in death by his |
| 21 | | parents; his daughter, Sandra Ellen Gustafson; his brother, |
