| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Richard "Dick" Henke, who passed away |
| 4 | | on October 18, 2023; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dick Henke was born to Bill and Mary Ethel Henke |
| 6 | | in Moline on May 9, 1932; he graduated from Rock Island High |
| 7 | | School; he majored in finance and banking at the University of |
| 8 | | Denver, where he played football and became a member of Sigma |
| 9 | | Phi Epsilon; he married Elaine Graham in 1953; he served in the |
| 10 | | U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Dick Henke co-founded Pipe Valve and Fitting Co. |
| 12 | | with Bob Green in 1962; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Dick Henke was a member of the Denver Athletic |
| 14 | | Club, the Pinehurst Country Club, and Arvada Covenant Church; |
| 15 | | and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Dick Henke was an avid golfer; he and his wife |
| 17 | | loved to travel, taking trips to Spain, England, France, |
| 18 | | Eleuthera, and Alaska; they also visited presidential |
| 19 | | libraries across the U.S.; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Dick Henke was known for his warm and welcoming |
