|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Fire Protection District Act is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 1.01 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (70 ILCS 705/1.01) (from Ch. 127 1/2, par. 21a) |
| 7 | | Sec. 1.01. Where an election has been held to organize any |
| 8 | | territory as a Fire Protection District under this Act, at |
| 9 | | which election a majority of the the votes cast in the |
| 10 | | territory proposed to be organized was against the |
| 11 | | organization of a Fire Protection District, or in case a city, |
| 12 | | village or incorporated town is in the territory sought to be |
| 13 | | organized, then if the proposition failed to receive a |
| 14 | | majority of the votes cast either in such city, village or |
| 15 | | incorporated town or in the territory outside of such city, |
| 16 | | village or incorporated town, then no subsequent election |
| 17 | | shall be held to organize such territory, or any part thereof, |
| 18 | | into a Fire Protection District for a period of one year after |
| 19 | | such election. |
