AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1118

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1118 as follows:

on page 2, immediately below line 23, by inserting the 
4
following:

    "(e) An employee or contractual employee of the Department

6
of Children and Family Services may not serve on the Board."; 
7
and
 
8
on page 3, line 21, after "Act.", by inserting "The Board also 
9
has the power to make recommendations to the Director of 
10
Children and Family Services with respect to overturning or 
11
altering the findings of any investigation that is conducted 
12
under Section 21 of the Children and Family Services Act."; and
 
13
on page 6, immediately below line 23, by inserting the 
14
following:

    "(d) The recommendations of the Board and any evidence

examined by the Board may be used by a respondent as part of  a

defense in any child abuse or neglect proceeding.".
