SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Carl Fredrick Helfers of Pekin, who 
4passed away on April 11, 2012; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born March 18, 1933 in Panama to Andrew 
6Jackson and Bessie (Cress) Helfers; he married Glenda Rose 
7Throgmartin on December 1, 1951 in Hillsboro; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, He was a strong union man and was a 38-year member 
9of Steamfitters Local 353 in Peoria; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, He enjoyed camping and going to the auction; when 
11he was younger, he ran stock cars with his brother; he was a 
12member of Rutland Christian Church; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife;  
14and 5 brothers; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Carl Fredrick Helfers is survived by his daughter, 
16Nancy (Tom) Hall; his sons, Jim (Kim Hammond) Helfers, Marty 
17(Teresa) Helfers, Michael E. (Karen) Helfers, Charles Helfers, 
18and Danny (Cherity) Helfers; his 18 grandchildren and 26 
19great-grandchildren; he also leaves several half-sisters;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3his family and friends, the passing of Carl Helfers; and be it 
4further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Carl Helfers as a symbol of our 
7sincere sympathy.
