Appropriates $201,489,000 in FY97 funds from the Capital
Development Fund to the Capital Development Board for
specified Department of Corrections projects. Effective
immediately.

1 AN ACT regarding appropriations.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. "An Act making appropriations and
5 reappropriations", Public Act 89-501, approved June 28, 1996,
6 is amended by adding Sections 3B, 3C, 3D, 3E, 3F, 3G, and 3H
7 to Article 77 as follows:
8 (P.A. 89-501, Article 77, Section 3B new)
9 Sec. 3B. In addition to any funds otherwise
10 appropriated, the sum of $42,750,000, or so much of that sum
11 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Capital
12 Development Fund to the Capital Development Board for the
13 Department of Corrections for planning, design, construction,
14 equipment, and other necessary costs for a correctional
15 facility for juveniles.

17 Sec. 3C. In addition to any funds otherwise appropriated,
18 the sum of $23,000,000, or so much of that sum as may be
19 necessary, is appropriated from the Capital Development Fund
20 to the Capital Development Board for the Department of
21 Corrections for planning and conversion of the Meyer Mental
22 Health Center to a correctional facility.

24 Sec. 3D. In addition to any funds otherwise appropriated,
25 the sum of $400,000, or so much of that sum as may be
26 necessary, is appropriated from the Capital Development Fund
27 to the Capital Development Board for the Department of
28 Corrections for upgrading the plumbing system at Menard
29 Correctional Center.

2 Sec. 3E. In addition to any funds otherwise appropriated,
3 the sum of $950,000, or so much of that sum as may be
4 necessary, is appropriated from the Capital Development Fund
5 to the Capital Development Board for the Department of
6 Corrections for upgrading the coal handling system and
7 repairing or replacing the boiler system at Menard
8 Correctional Center.

10 Sec. 3F. In addition to any funds otherwise appropriated,
11 the sum of $16,800,000, or so much of that sum as may be
12 necessary, is appropriated from the Capital Development Fund
13 to the Capital Development Board for the Department of
14 Corrections for completion of planning, site improvements,
15 utility upgrade, equipment, and construction of 2 housing
16 units, one at Graham Correctional Center and one at Logan
17 Correctional Center.

19 Sec. 3G. In addition to any funds otherwise appropriated,
20 the sum of $7,000,000, or so much of that sum as may be
21 necessary, is appropriated from the Capital Development Fund
22 to the Capital Development Board for the Department of
23 Corrections for completion of planning, site improvements,
24 utility upgrade, equipment, and construction of a housing
25 unit at the Illinois Youth Center at Joliet.
