1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 847
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 847 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by changing
5 Section 18-215 as follows:
6 (35 ILCS 200/18-215)
7 Sec. 18-215. Merging and consolidating taxing districts.
8 For purposes of this Law, when 2 or more taxing districts
9 merge or consolidate, the sum of the last preceding aggregate
10 extensions for each of the taxing districts district shall be
11 combined for the resulting merged or consolidated taxing
12 district. When a service performed by one taxing district is
13 transferred to another taxing district, that part of the
14 aggregate extension base for that purpose shall be
15 transferred and added to the aggregate extension base of the
16 transferee taxing district for purposes of this Law and shall
17 be deducted from the aggregate extension base of the
18 transferor taxing district.
