1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Lottery Law by changing
2 Section 15.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Lottery Law is amended by
6 changing Section 15 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 1605/15) (from Ch. 120, par. 1165)
8 Sec. 15. No ticket or share shall be sold to a any
9 person under the age of 18, but this Section does not
10 prohibit the purchase of a ticket or share for the purpose of
11 making a gift by a person 18 years of age or older to a any
12 person of any age. An Any agent or employee of an any agent
13 who knowingly sells or offers to sell a lottery ticket or
14 share to a any person under the age of 18 shall be guilty of
15 a Class B misdemeanor; provided, that if any offense under
16 this Section is a subsequent offense, the offender shall be
17 guilty of a Class 4 felony.
18 No ticket or share shall be purchased by, and no prize
19 shall be paid to any of the following persons: any member of
20 the Board or any officer or other person employed by the
21 Board or by the Department or to any spouse, child, brother,
22 sister or parent residing as a member of the same household
23 in the principal place of abode of any such persons. A Any
24 violation of this prohibition shall be a Class B misdemeanor;
25 provided, that if any violation of this prohibition is a
26 subsequent violation, the offender shall be guilty of a Class
27 4 felony.
