          Appropriates $1 to the Department  of  Veterans'  Affairs
      for  its ordinary and contingent expenses.  Effective July 1,
      1997.

 1        AN ACT making appropriations.
 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:
 4        Section  5.  The  sum of $1, or so much thereof as may be
 5    necessary, is appropriated  to  the  Illinois  Department  of
 6    Veterans' Affairs for its ordinary and contingent expenses.
 7        Section  99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect July
 8    1, 1997.
