1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1881
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1881, AS AMENDED,
3 in the body of Section 5 of the bill, in Sec. 6.9, by
4 replacing "Insurance Code." with "Insurance Code. The
5 program of health benefits shall provide the coverage
6 required under Section 356u of the Illinois Insurance Code.";
7 and
8 in the body of Section 15 of the bill, in Sec. 5-1069.3, by
9 replacing "356t of the Illinois Insurance Code. The
10 requirement that post-mastectomy care" with "356t and the
11 coverage required under Section 356u of the Illinois
12 Insurance Code. The requirement that health benefits"; and
13 in the body of Section 20 of the bill, in Sec. 10-4-2.3, by
14 replacing "356t of the Illinois Insurance Code. The
15 requirement that post-mastectomy care with "356t and the
16 coverage required under Section 356u of the Illinois
17 Insurance Code. The requirement that health benefits"; and
18 in the body of Section 25 of the bill, in Sec. 10-22.3f, by
19 replacing "356t" with "356t and the coverage required under
20 Section 356u"; and
21 in the introductory clause to Section 30 of the bill by
22 replacing "Section 356t" with "Sections 356t and 356u"; and

1 in the body of Section 30 of the bill by inserting
2 immediately below the last line of Sec. 356t the following:
3 "(215 ILCS 5/356u new)
4 Sec. 356u. Pap tests and prostate-specific antigen
5 tests.
6 (a) A group policy of accident and health insurance that
7 provides coverage for hospital or medical treatment or
8 services for illness on an expense-incurred basis and is
9 amended, delivered, issued, or renewed after the effective
10 date of this amendatory Act of 1997 shall provide coverage
11 for all of the following:
12 (1) An annual cervical smear or Pap smear test for
13 female insureds.
14 (2) An annual digital rectal examination and a
15 prostate-specific antigen test, for male insureds upon
16 the recommendation of a physician licensed to practice
17 medicine in all its branches for:
18 (A) asymptomatic men age 50 and over;
19 (B) African-American men age 40 and over; and
20 (C) men age 40 and over with a family history
21 of prostate cancer.
22 (b) This Section shall not apply to agreements,
23 contracts, or policies that provide coverage for a specified
24 disease or other limited benefit coverage."; and
25 in the body of Section 35 of the bill, in Sec. 4-6.5, by
26 changing "Section 356t" to "Sections 356t and 356u"; and
27 in the body of Section 40 of the bill, in Sec. 10, by
28 changing "356t" to "356t, 356u"; and
29 in the body of Section 45 of the bill, in Sec. 5-16.8, by
30 replacing "356t" with "356t and the coverage required under
31 Section 356u".
