20 ILCS 1805/56-1 from Ch. 129, par. 220.56-1
Amends the Military Code of Illinois. Provides that any
moneys in the Federal Support Agreement Revolving Fund that
are appropriated to pay for weekly allowances for students in
the Lincoln's Challenge Program may be deposited by the
Department of Military Affairs into a savings and loan
association or State or national bank in this State.
Provides that those moneys shall be managed by the Department
of Military Affairs in accordance with certain laws, rules,
and regulations. Effective immediately.

1 AN ACT to amend the Military Code of Illinois by changing
2 Section 56-1.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Military Code of Illinois is amended by
6 changing Section 56-1 as follows:
7 (20 ILCS 1805/56-1) (from Ch. 129, par. 220.56-1)
8 Sec. 56-1. Federal Support Agreement Revolving Fund;
9 payment; use. The Federal Support Agreement Revolving Fund
10 shall be initially financed by an appropriation from the
11 General Revenue Fund to the Federal Support Agreement
12 Revolving Fund. Thereafter, all monies received from the
13 federal government that are necessary for the reimbursement
14 of salaries paid to employees hired in reimbursed positions,
15 for facility operations or other programs as provided under
16 the terms of the Federal Support Agreement between the
17 Department of Military Affairs and the United States Property
18 and Fiscal Officer for Illinois shall be paid into the
19 Federal Support Agreement Revolving Fund. The money in this
20 fund shall be used by the Department of Military Affairs only
21 for those expenses necessary to meet all of the terms and
22 obligations of the Federal Support Agreement. All moneys
23 expended by the Department of Military Affairs from this Fund
24 shall be appropriated by the General Assembly. Furthermore,
25 any moneys that are appropriated to pay for weekly allowances
26 for students in the Lincoln's Challenge Program may be
27 deposited by the Department of Military Affairs into a
28 savings and loan association or State or national bank in
29 this State. Such funds shall be managed by the Department of
30 Military Affairs in the manner provided by the laws of this
31 State, applicable rules and regulations based thereon, and

1 applicable federal requirements governing the use of such
2 funds.

4 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
5 becoming law.
