          Appropriates  an  additional  $1  to  the  Department  of
      Transportation for its ordinary and contingent  expenses  for
      FY98.  Effective immediately.

 1        AN ACT making appropriations.
 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:
 4        Section   5.  In   addition    to    amounts    otherwise
 5    appropriated,  the amount of $1, or so much of that amount as
 6    may be  necessary,  is  appropriated  to  the  Department  of
 7    Transportation  for  its ordinary and contingent expenses for
 8    fiscal year 1998.
 9        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect  upon
10    becoming law.
