1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Those individuals who minister to the spiritual
3 needs of others are worthy of the highest respect and
4 admiration; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of this Body that
6 Dr. Hycel B. Taylor is celebrating his twenty-fifth year of
7 dedicated service as Senior Pastor of Second Baptist Church
8 in Evanston; and
9 WHEREAS, First ordained to the ministry forty-two years
10 ago, Dr. Taylor has dedicated his life to the issues of
11 social justice, civil rights, youth ministry, and the fight
12 for a better quality of life; and
13 WHEREAS, Dr. Hycel B. Taylor's life and service are a
14 shining example of the love of God to all people of this
15 State; therefore, be it
16 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
17 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
18 congratulate Dr. Hycel B. Taylor as he celebrates twenty-five
19 years of service as the Senior Pastor of Second Baptist
20 Church; that we commend him for his long and faithful
21 dedication to God's work; and that we express great pleasure
22 in the expectation that he will be able to continue his
23 loving service and concern for many years to come; and be it
24 further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to him as an expression of our great respect and
27 admiration.
