1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to send their condolences to the family
4 and friends of Billy Gene Echols of Chicago, Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Billy Gene Echols was born in Hernando,
6 Mississippi on March 4, 1949; his parents were Roxie Ana and
7 Louis Echols; Billy Gene Echols was the youngest son of eight
8 children; and
9 WHEREAS, Billy Gene Echols served as an Honor Guard in
10 the United States Navy for six years; upon the end of his
11 service, he became an employee of Ameritech, where he worked
12 for over twenty years; Billy Gene Echols is remembered as a
13 man who was outgoing; charismatic, and loving; and
14 WHEREAS, Billy Gene Echols is survived by his brother
15 Curtis and sister-in-law Arlene; his brother Ira Clayton and
16 sister-in-law Ira Jean; his sister Ann Miller and
17 brother-in-law Fred; his sister Mary Echols Griffin; his
18 sister Sharon Kay Echols; nieces, nephews, cousins, other
19 relatives, and several friends; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
22 mourn, along with his family and friends, the death of Billy
23 Gene Echols of Chicago, Illinois; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to the family of Billy Gene Echols of Chicago,
26 Illinois.
