1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of our
4 friend, Emery Koehler of Springfield, Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Emery Koehler was born on July 18, 1931, in Rib
6 Falls, Wisconsin, the son of John and Alma Doerr Koehler; on
7 November 14, 1953 he married Beulah Londo; and
8 WHEREAS, Emery Koehler was the owner of Emery Advertising
9 Agency, Koehler Greenhouses, and Emery Vending; and
10 WHEREAS, Emery Koehler served as the chief doorkeeper for
11 the Illinois House of Representatives for seventeen years,
12 and retired in 1995; and
13 WHEREAS, Emery Koehler served as a Democratic precinct
14 committeeman for twenty-six years; he was a member of Grace
15 Lutheran Church, where he worked as a volunteer for the Grace
16 Lutheran Food Pantry; and
17 WHEREAS, Emery Koehler was a member of the Eagles, Elks,
18 Central Lodge 71 AF&AM, Springfield Consistory, Ansar Temple,
19 Capitol City Shrine and Ansar Legion of Honor; and
20 WHEREAS, Emery Koehler is survived by his wife, Beulah;
21 his two daughters, Mrs. Brian (Carolyn) Cowgur and Mrs. R.
22 Joe (Lynne) Stengel, Sr., both of Springfield; his four
23 grandchildren, Mike and Joe Stengel Jr., and Jared and April
24 Cowgur; his two great-grandsons, Justin Angel and Jacob
25 Stengel; and his sister, Velma Kumpel; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, That we
28 mourn with great sadness the death of Emery Koehler of
29 Springfield, Illinois; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
