1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to honor John Scornavacco, Principal of
4 Deerfield High School, on his upcoming retirement; and
5 WHEREAS, John Scornavacco attended and graduated from
6 Highland Park High School in 1959; he was active in football,
7 basketball, and track; he played football for the University
8 of Wisconsin and received his Bachelor of Science degree in
9 1963; he received his Masters of Science degree from Northern
10 Illinois University in 1968; and
11 WHEREAS, John Scornavacco went on to teach at Highland
12 Park High School from 1963 to 1968; he served as Dean of
13 Students from 1968 to 1972; as Administrative Assistant from
14 1972 to 1974; as Athletic Director from 1974 to 1984; and as
15 Assistant Principal from 1984 to 1987; in 1987 he took the
16 position of Principal at Deerfield High School; and
17 WHEREAS, John Scornavacco is a member of the National
18 Association of Secondary School Principals, the IHSA
19 Legislative Commission, the IHSA New Athletic Director
20 Inservice Presenter, and a two time speaker at the Illinois
21 Athletic Director's State Convention; and
22 WHEREAS, John Scornavacco is married to his wife, Winkie;
23 they have two children, Scott and Amy; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
26 congratulate John Scornavacco on his retirement as Principal
27 of Deerfield High School; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to Mr. John Scornavacco.
