1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Those individuals who minister to the spiritual
3 needs of others are worthy of the highest respect and
4 admiration; and
5 WHEREAS, Sister Eileen Morley entered the Adrian
6 Dominican Order on February 2, 1948; and
7 WHEREAS, She taught in Michigan at St. Scholastica in
8 Detroit, Sacred Heart in Car, Sacred Heart in Bad Axe, and
9 St. Patrick in Escanaba before becoming Principal at Our Lady
10 of Knock; and
11 WHEREAS, In 1971, she became Adrian Dominican Elementary
12 Consultant, and in 1972 she became Consultant for the Joliet
13 Diocese; in 1974, she became Principal of Holy Ghost in South
14 Holland; after a year's sabbatical at Notre Dame in 1988, she
15 became Principal at St. Ann's in Lansing; and
16 WHEREAS, She is affiliated with the National Catholic
17 Education Association, the Association of Supervision and
18 Curriculum Development, the Archdiocesan Principals'
19 Association, and National Association of Elementary School
20 Principals; and
21 WHEREAS, She has been supported throughout her life by
22 her sister, Sister Sean, also a member of the Adrian
23 Dominicans for 48 years; a brother, John; a sister-in-law,
24 Lois; and her nieces and nephew; and
25 WHEREAS, The illustrious life and extraordinary service
26 of Sister Eileen Morley are a shining example of God to all
27 people; therefore, be it
28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
30 congratulate Sister Eileen Morley on her Golden Jubilee as a

1 nun and wish her success in the future; and be it further
2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to Sister Eileen Morley.
